Furano
While Hokkaido is generally known for its snow festivals and ski slopes during the winter, its summer attractions include the breathtaking fields of flowers the region hosts. Furano in particular is known for their lavender fields, and we visited Farm Tomita. Prior to coming here I acquired the rare (and expensive) Fujifilm Velvia 100 from one of the camera stores in Kyoto. Decided the colorful flower fields of Hokkaido would be the best use for this film known for its punchy vibrant colors.
The scenery in Hokkaido was unmatched. The mountainous terrain with the vibrant fields of flowers made us want to spend every summer in this place.
