Kyoto

Our home base in Kansai during the first leg of our journey. This city is home to many of Japan’s iconic scenes, the Fushimi Inari Shrine, Hokan-Ji Temple, Nishiki Market, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and the Snow Monkey Park. My wife and I stayed at a machiya, a traditional wooden townhouse found particularly in Kyoto.
