Otaru City

A historic port city in Hokkaido, this place felt straight out of a fantasy novel. A city known for its glass-making, a central steam clock tower (one of the few steam-powered clock towers remaining in the world), and the iconic Otaru City Canal, full of musicians playing ghibli tunes on their accordion. This was my wife’s favorite location and must-go for us again the next time we come to Japan.
